PARIS, Feb 9 (News Agencies) - A group of 350 French pilgrims heading for Mecca were still stuck Friday at Paris' Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport after three days of waiting, held up by the tour operators supposedly organizing their trip.
"We don't understand what's going on, we've been here since Wednesday, we checked in our baggage and nothing has happened since then," explained Slimen Brigui, one of those left at the airport.
"We've been given no information by the agency which has refused to give us our money back, meaning we can't even take another plane," he explained.
The pilgrimage was organized by Riyadh Voyages, which did not hire Saudi Airlines as it normally does, but instead chartered a jet from the Greek carrier Electra Airlines, aviation authorities said.
Electra then sub-contracted the flight to an Egyptian carrier, which then chartered a second Egyptian company.
Obtaining authorization to fly over Greece and permission to land at Jeddah may be holding up the trip, authorities said.
The airport has offered the stricken pilgrims shelter until the problem can be resolved.
