Iraq’s new prime minister Iyad Allawi said
Tuesday, July 6, 2004, that his government cooperated in a US
air strike on the town of Fallujah that killed at least 13
people and wounded 5 others. He added that his interim
government had provided intelligence for the attack. A US
military spokesman alleged that the target was a house
suspected of being used by supporters of an alleged Al-Qaeda
leader, Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi, who has been frequently blamed
by US forces for organizing anti-US resistance in Fallujah.
