Turkish FM Condemns US Congressman Remarks 
Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul during a news conference with his Irish counterpart Dermot Ahern in Ankara, Tuesday, July 19, 2005, condemned comments by US congressman Tom Tancredo, R-Colorado, that the United States could 'take out' Islamic holy sites if there were a nuclear attack on America by Muslim fundamentalists. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) asked the congressman for Apology and demanded the republican party to repudiate his remarks.
