Iranian Opposition Leader Calls for Support
A leading Iranian opposition leader, Maryam Rajavi, said on Wednesday, July 23, 2008, that the international community must support Iran's resistance movement if it wants to deal with the country's nuclear program. Rajavi made the remarks at a media conference at Italy's Lower House of Parliament. Rajavi is also a member of the armed opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI). The PMOI is banned in Iran and considered a terrorist group by the European Union and the US.
