Iran: Violent Protests Against Britain
Hundreds of Iranian demonstrators rallied outside the British embassy in the Iranian capital Tehran, Monday, November 29, 2004, to protest at Britain’s military deployment in Iraq, throwing stones and petrol bombs at the already damaged compound. Dozens of anti-riot police prevented protestors from getting too close to the embassy walls and main gate. The demonstrators chanted slogans calling for the expulsion of Britain's ambassador, Richard Dalton, and for the embassy to be shut down, and demanded a boycott of British goods.
