Libya Tells its Nationals to Avoid Egypt During Coalition Wargames
TRIPOLI, Oct 23 (AFP) - Libya on Saturday urged its nationals to stay out of neighboring Egypt until the conclusion of massive US-led multinational wargames being held there until the end of the month.
A statement from Libyan authorities, carried by the official JANA news agency and datelined from the border town of Batnaan, said the request was being made "to guard the security of those wanting to visit Egypt."
Some 73,000 troops from 11 nations are taking part in the so-called Bright Star wargames in the Egyptian desert as well as on beaches along the Mediterranean coast. The exercises are due to conclude November 1.
